School closed on Visak Bochea Day

Visak Bochea is a day of born,enlightenment,and nirvana day (death) of the Lord Buddha. Buddhism​ exist 2557 years old now.For the Buddhist countries, including Cambodia is celebrating Visak Bochea to obey the lord Buddha. Visak Buchea was internationally recognized as holiday by the United Nations in 2000. Visak Bochea day is a religious ceremony and national holiday in Cambodia. Buddhist followers go to pagoda to celebrate ceremony to obey the Lord Buddha.Government official, School,and others company are closed on this holiday.Cambodia is Buddhist country most of citizen follow Buddhism.This ceremony is not only celebrated in Cambodia,but also in others countries that has Cambodian citizen.

Buddhism is the religion of state as written in Constitution of Cambodia in article 68, "The state shall provide primary and secondary education to all citizens in public school. The state shall disseminate and develop the Pali school and the Buddhist Institute".

Visak Bochea is celebrated on the 15th of Luna Calendar.On this day is a holly day,followers go to pagoda to joined the food offering’s ceremony for Buddhist monks and at night there is a full moon on the sky.There will be the prayer and preaching at the pagoda with monk prayer and followers.

Buddhism is logic religion.All Buddha preach are in bible which divided in to 8400 parts.At the Angkor Empire, Jayavaraman VII priorities to Buddhism and that time the Khmer Empire was prosperous to its pick.Because,Buddhism unity people to love doing good and hat evil.Not only doing good for people,but for any life living.

Because of war for long time in Cambodia, Buddhism has dramatically down.Especially, in Khmer Rouge (Pol pot Regime) from (1975-1979) when it ruled over Cambodia. During that time, all citizen living in city are moved to live in countryside and moved from one place to another.They were wearing black clothes that why we call it the nightmare.That time hundred of citizen were killed.No education was allowed at that time.Most of educated citizen and wise men were kill.Buddha bible and others documents were destroyed.Just after the regime was token over, Buddhism and education live again.

Now Cambodia run Khmer Rouge Trail Court.This court is called the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia for the Prosecution of Crimes Committed during the Period of Democratic Kampuchea (Extraordinary Chambers or ECCC).The Trail court aim to find justice for victim citizen who died during the nightmare field and for all Cambodian who victim during the regime.Now caseload to Case 004.See more detail about ECCC

Now year 2013, international year and ,2557 years of Buddha birth.We wish all people and living live to be peaceful.
